Thobeka Gumede

Thobeka Gumede was born in a very small village called eNkwalini in KwaZulu-Natal, located between the historical towns of Eshowe and Melmoth, and grew up in a township known as KwaMakhutha in Durban. In 2014, she graduated with her LLB degree at the University of Zululand. Thereafter she enrolled with the University of KwaZulu-Natal to pursue a Master’s degree in Maritime Law and is currently completing her dissertation. Thobeka joined the Centre on 1 April 2015 and hopes to gain the fundamentals of environmental legal compliance, and to impart the knowledge she gains from the Centre to educate people about the importance of conserving the environment. She enjoys spending time her family and helping people wherever she can.

Uthemba ukuthi ukuba inxenye yeCER kuzomenza aqonde kabanzi imithetho ehambiselana nokuhlenga ezemvelo, isifiso sakhe ukufundisa abantu ngezemvelo ngoba ukholelwa ukuthi indlela ebalulekile yokugcina umhlaba uphephile. Uyakuthanda ukucitha isikhathi nomndeni wakhe, kanye nokusiza abantu.
